Soft or Firm Latex Topper for Our Flipped Tempur-Pedic Mattress?

Hi again,
Thanks for the chat. You recommended that we turn over our 7 year old Tempur-Pedic mattress and a 2” latex topper (the Ever-Eden or the Pure Bliss). 
I am 188 pounds at 5’4” and my husband is 195 lbs at 6’0” tall. 
I’m a side-sleeper waking up with a stiff lower back and hips that feel sunken and stuck. 
He’s a back and side sleeper with shoulder issues from too much weight-lifting. 
I’m leaning heavily toward the Pure Bliss topper due to my constantly changing body temperature (you know, those “hot flashes” with your wife? ;-)). 
So how do I choose between Soft and Firm? 
I always thought firm was better, and as I mentioned to you, am nervous about making a large, online purchase and really want to get it right.

It was nice chatting with you.
Don't over think this. The soft is what will provide the surface comfort you need.

Latex is unlike anything else you've known...far more resilient than anything else made.
Your flipped over mattress will provide all the firmness you need.

In fact, you can flip that mattress now and give it a try.
You'll soon see that the last thing you need is a firm topper.

Btw, latex sleeps cool, naturally. Only memory foam sleeps hot.
