Back Pain from a 1 year old Tempurpedic Memory Foam Mattress.

Hi Pete,
We currently have a one year old Tempurpedic basic medium firm memory foam mattress.  
My girlfriend likes that it doesn't get body impressions and that you can't feel the other person moving.  
However, we are both having back pain.  No support once the foam softens and you sink into it.  
I'm 5 foot 10, 145 pounds.  She is 5 foot 4, 165 pounds.  
We need good back support, no body impressions, no pressure point pain, something that doesn't make a giant ditch if we both move to the center.  
Our previous five year old euro top Simmons Beautyrest world class felt better than what we have now, but not wonderful.  
Past pillow top beds caused back pain and huge body impressions.  Any suggestions?

Hi Brandon,
What good is a mattress that is nice to look at but lousy to sleep in?
The fact that memory foam returns when you get off of it is why you will never prevail in a warranty claim over how lousy a night's sleep you get from it.

There is a way around this. It's the memory foam on top that softens from your body's heat.
However, that mattress isn't all memory foam. The top couple/few inches of memory foam is supported by several inches of high density Polyurethane Foam.
Simply flip your mattress over. The underside is much firmer and is NOT temperature sensitive.
Your back pain will subside right away, after your first night.
The down side is that it's quite firm on the underside and not likely to be comfortable.
To solve that problem, simply add a 2" Soft Natural Talalay Latex Mattress Topper to soften the surface.
