Hello Pete -
My husband and I purchased a Simmons Beautyrest World Class Carmel Eurotop Plush a few years ago, and have not been particularly impressed - it is fine, but not outstanding. 
And, as we get older - we are both 45 - we find we have more aches and pains during the night and upon waking. My husband is 5'9" and 180 lbs, and I am 5'4" and 130 lbs.

Does the Desiree Luxury Firm have more support than our Eurotop Plush?

Hi Elizabeth,
Yes. The Black models have a stronger coil unit and do provide better support than what you have.

But, the memory foam in the mattress is what helps to produce that achy feel. In your case, that's complicated by the thin gauge wire used to make their "Plush" models.
Your mattress has lasted as long as it has, because the two of you are fairly light in weight.
As you've seen, the Black models are much more expensive.
Normally, I'd recommend a lesser expensive World Class model in Luxury Firm and a latex topper to go with it.
Just recently, the World Class Series was discontinued and the Platinum Series has taken it's place.
I'm not recommending that because the Platinum models have even more memory foam than the World Class.
There is a much better option for you.

What makes a Beautyrest so popular is the individually pocketed coils, moving independently from one another.
