Need Help Finding a Sealy Posturepedic Presidental Mattress with NO Memory Foam.

Karen writes:

Hi Pete,
After reading all your items and asking about the Sealy Posturepedic Presidental mattress which seems to be the only one that Sealy has without memory foam.
Other than buying directly from the Marriott Site, what do you think would be similar at retail?
I had someone recommend a Jamison mattress but never heard of this brand.
My husband and I are in our min 50's.  I have a herniated disc in lower back so wondered what you recommend that would be comparable to the Presidential above.
Thanks, Karen

Hi Karen,
Jamison makes all foam mattresses.
At one time, Marriott was featuring Jamison's all latex mattress. They were quite popular. However, latex is expensive and the things people do to mattresses that aren't theirs, is unspeakable.
So, they soon switched to Jamison's all poly form mattresses...which were a whole lot less expensive.
Today, they use a hotel grade of Sealy Posturepedic...without the memory foam that is so abundantly used in everything else they make.
Both, Sealy and Stearns & Foster, were bought by Tempurpedic...which is where all that memory foam comes from....terrible stuff.
We used to be a Sealy/S&F retailer...for many years. We dropped both lines after all that memory foam was added.
It wasn't worth it to me, to keep those lines, for the sake of only the few models remaining that don't have the memory foam.
These would be their hotel grade.

Model names for each mattress are different at every retail store and for many of the hotels, too.
If you want that mattress by that name, the only place to get it, is through Marriott.
However, you will pay 2-3 times more for it, buying through most hotels. To shop for it locally, you'll ask for it by the level that Sealy has given it.
You will, likely, need to speak to the store manager to find someone who knows that information. Most salespeople are poorly trained and know very little about the products they sell.
Their training is in how to make the sale. Details just get in the way.

Anyway, you'll ask for a Sealy Posturepedic, Level A-3.
These mattresses are available with and without pillowtops. I suggest you avoid the pillowtop models. The pillowtop part is the first thing to wear and becomes uncomfortable within a matter of months. Got that?...months, not years.
I nice combination of comfort and support, would be the plush tight top.
This won't be easy to find, because they are not expensive mattresses.
Here is a link to that mattress through a retailer I know. Their customer service is second to none.

This is an excellent choice for herniated discs. The interlocked coil unit provides the more rigid base support that a herniated disc responds to best.
