Very little is as it was 30 years ago. There have been many changes since then. And, in the last 10 years, those changes have been all bad....especially since Sealy was purchased by Tempurepedic.
The old term, "They don't make 'em like that anymore" couldn't be more accurate.
The country is full of smaller manufacturers who make old fashioned mattresses.
Wolf is one of them...a Midwest family owned and operated manufacturer since 1873.
They make a two sided mattress that uses the same coil unit and upholstery material as your 30 year old Sealy.
There are 3 models, but the Brooklyn Plush model is the most comfortable.
