My wife and I have been on a water bed for 33 years, current bed is a motionless king approximately 10 yrs, 
I am 65, 5’11’ 180 lbs with degenerative disc disease in lower back and primarily sleep on my side, she is 57, 5’3” 210 lbs. and will sleep on both side and back.  
We want a conventional King for the lake house, we plan to reside there permanently next year after my retirement. 
We have tried laying on several (S&F, Simmons Beautyrest, Sealy Posturepedic) which were pillow tops at the various bed shops.
And, we have looked at several on line based on the mfg. comfort levels but unable to cross from local stores to the various web sites.
Your recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Roland,
You need to change what you're thinking.
It's important for you to know that you likely developed your DDD because of the improper support provided by your waterbed. 
A pillowtop mattress will do its part to make matters worse. What's more, the pillowtop will quickly lose its shape. 
My best suggestion is to recommend that, which my wife and I sleep on.
I am of similar age, and a little heavier than you....along with the trifecta of disc problems...DDD, Herniated and Bulging discs.
