Simmons Beautyrest Alexia vs Ava Mattress?

Hi Pete,

Thanks for this blog. Best resource I've found for researching mattresses.

My wife and I tried the equivalent models at Macy's and we like both but she leans toward the Ava and I like the Alexia.

I see you often recommend the Ava to bigger people. I'm 6'0" 250 lbs and my wife is 5'6" 130 lbs.

Is the Ava in Luxury with a latex topper basically the same thing as the Alexia? Any recommendations?

The Alexia Extra Firm is a bit stronger and firmer than the Ava Luxury Firm.
Normally, I would recommend the Alexia for someone your size, for the sake of extra longevity.
However, it isn't as comfortable as the Ava....and your wife is slender.
I would suggest that you sacrifice the extra couple of years for the sake of your wife's comfort.
Even the Ava with a latex topper will last a good long time.
The Alexia providing less comfort for the sake of a couple more years of use, doesn't make much sense.
