What makes a Simmons mattress so comfortable, is the individually pocketed coil unit. The coils move independently from one another, providing a contouring support that maintains the natural alignment of your spine.
We often recommend Simmons Beautyrest mattresses for that purpose. We also recommend a soft latex mattress topper to go with it, in lieu of the pillowtop.
The pillowtop part of the mattress is the first thing to fail...losing the supportive, comfortable feel quickly...with months of purchase.
Since they almost always end up in a warranty claim, we have eliminated the pillowtops from our selection of Beautyrest mattresses.
Neither my customers nor I need the aggravation that is sure to ensue.

The triple strand coils of the Black models are stronger and necessary to handle the weight of larger people.
However, both are upholstered with poly and memory foams, which tend to take body impressions quite easily and quickly.
To insulate you from the memory foam, which also tends to sleep hot...to make the sleeping surface more comfortable...and to add longevity to the mattress that it doesn't have on it's own,
