Hi Mark,
With that attitude, in most stores, you will find exactly what you're looking for, comfort to the exclusion of all else.
At stores, that is achieved with lots and lots of memory foam...extremely comfortable, initially, with little value when it comes to longevity.
Now, if you have unlimited funds and can afford to replace your mattress every year or two, then have at it.
Although, I'm honor bound to inform you that memory foam off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it's made, (Formaldehyde & Benzene being but 2 of the 61 different chemicals used).
Not only is memory foam a poor value, it's a health hazard...and, it sleeps hot, no matter how much cooling gel they add to it.
In the 20 years that memory foam has been on the market, it has proven itself to be the absolute worst material ever invented for this purpose.
But because it returns to its original shape when you get off of it, it rarely meets the criteria necessary to prevail in a warranty claim.
It has created a boon for the mattress industry and a nightmare for the consumer, who find themselves thousands of dollars poorer and, in many cases, getting a worse night's sleep than they got with their old mattress.

Here, we do things a bit differently. We avoid harmful products that don't work well, and substitute them for all natural products that work extremely well...and continue to do so over the long term, (many years).
All natural latex is thee very best upholstery material anywhere on the planet, and that has been true for the last 100 years.

Soft means less durable...as a matter of simple physics. The degree of that varying based on the quality of the material and the weight of the individuals using the mattress.
