The Whitten is the same as the Evie. Both are pillowtop models.
Simmons pillowtops & plush models are the source of almost all of their complaints.
The horrible reviews about Simmons, that you can see on line, are due to the plush & pillowtop models being sold.
They sell quite easily, as they are very comfortable initially.
In other words, they are comfortable enough to make the sale, but lose that comfort quickly...within a year or two.
Hotels don't use their rooms every night. They are filled on a rotating basis and may be used approx. 3 times a week, on average.
And, on average, buy new mattresses every few years.
Consumers expect more than a few years, even though the mattress will be used every night.
However, if you want it to last a good long time and remain comfortable, there's a way around what the manufacturer has in store for you.
Step down to the non pillowtop model...the Ava in luxury firm. Add to that an all natural 2" soft Talalay latex mattress topper.
This will take the place of the pillowtop, but with latex foam rubber, which lasts for many years.
Also, because latex is so incredibly resilient, it will absorb most of your body weight, which will cause the mattress to last much longer than it would without it.
