Simmons Beautyrest Black Edenton Luxury Firm mattress sagging...Latex Topper. 

Hi. I feel absolutely stuck. I bought a Simmons Beautyrest Black Edenton Luxury Firm mattress and was told it would not lose its support because of some 'special technology'. Well, it did start to sag after just 4 months. Of course I can't return it because it's past the 90 days mark. I am losing so much sleep due to lower back pain now and at an absolute loss as to what to do. I can't afford to buy a new mattress and I try to put things under the lower back area to help with sagging but nothing is working. I am at my wits end. Seems like none of these mattress companies care about what kind of product they put out. Has anyone else had this problem?

It seems like everyone has this problem.
The problem is three-fold....mattresses that aren't made as well as they had been years ago, salespeople who over sell their product... "over sell" being a euphemism for "will say and promise anything to make the sale"...aka BS like "special technology", which you accepted and didn't ask him about...and the use of memory foam that is purposefully designed to lose its shape. It's a vicious cycle of questionable quality, questionable sales practices and the willingness on the part of the American consumer to be led like sheep to slaughter...believing every dishonest piece of BS that comes out of a salesman's mouth.

Since you can't afford to start this process anew, logic dictates that you do something with what you have. Since the top of your mattress isn't working for you, flip it over and use the underside.
As it is, it isn't likely to be comfortable that way, but it will be supportive, which is half the battle. The other half is comfort. Here again, logic dictates that you use a truly high quality product for this job...a product that won't sag after 4 months. For this, we turn to tried and true "old technology"...latex foam rubber. Latex comes soft, medium and firm...so that you can achieve the feel that best suits you. A removable pillowtop made of latex will last you an extremely long time.
