Hi Pete,
I've been reading your mattress blog extensively and have been learning a lot. thank you for providing us with such good advice.
i'm on the market for a new mattress. i am looking for a quality mattress that will last a long time. 6 months ago, i bought an 8" foam mattress from habitat furnishings. it was good for the first month and then started getting too soft. i now wake up regularly with back ache. i wasn't sure if it was the mattress or my sitting position during the day, but after going on vacation and sleeping on a very comfortable bed without any back pain, i realized it's probably the mattress. thankfully, they will be taking it back and giving me a full refund. so far their customer service has been phenomenal.
since this was the first time i had tried foam, i discovered it was making me way too hot. i also didn't like the feeling of sleeping inside of a mattress but prefer firmer feel of floating on top. i had a cheap ikea mattress before that one that i actually loved the first year or two but then it started getting uncomfortable to sleep on. i want something that will last longer than a few years. so i went to macy's and tried a few beds and i really liked the beautyrest world class extra firm here.
do you have an equivalent in your online store? i found this one on another site which is much cheaper but i wasn't sure if it was the same kind or not.
also, would you recommend even better quality ones? my preference is somewhere between luxury firm and tabletop when it comes to the firmness level. although i do sleep on my side mostly. i also do NOT like being very hot. my apt is generally very warm so some kind of cooling system is a must. i read good things about the gel foam that beautyrest also uses. not sure if that will make a big difference.
could you also tell me what your return policy is? i couldn't find that information on the site.
thanks once again for your help.

All of these mattresses have some memory foam. And while the memory foam used by Simmons is better, (More resilient and less temperature sensitive than regular memory foam), it's still memory foam, which produces some degree of warmth when you sleep on it.
For the sake of longevity and to insulate you from the memory foam, we suggest adding a layer of latex to the top of the mattress.
Given you comfort preference, add 1.5" of firm Talalay Latex. Latex foam is all-natural and the most resilient upholstery material on the planet.
And...Latex foam sleeps cool....Shown Here:
