Two-Sided Cameo Mattress or Simmons Beautyrest & Latex Foam Topper.

I really like all your great info and suggestions. So I am asking which way to go for us. I am mostly 75% side sleeper/25% back sleeper (5'8" 160#) and my partner is the opposite 75%back/25%side (5'10", 190#) -both mid 40's with some back issues. I've read some of your responses in regards to the above models, but some of the models have different firmness labels. We have tested the Oceanside/Alexia (stated extra firm) and the Sonora (Annapolis Place) firm in a couple of stores - no pillow tops. Then I saw your comments in regards to the Two-Sided Therapedic Cameo Plush and saw there is a Cameo Firm (have not personally tested these). We liked both Beautyrests, but felt the Sonora may breakdown sooner since it was a bit 'softer' but quite comfortable in the store. The Alexia felt well made and was a tad more firm than the Sonora. The Oceanside felt more firm then the other store's Alexia.
It appears you're big believer in the latex foam toppers. How does the topper compare to a pillow top?. We are not big fans of pillow tops as they tend to be hot and too mushy. 
So with the above info would you please describe how each set would work for us and recommend which mattress set would work well for us. Thanks in advance for taking the time to help us out. Audra

The Therapedic Cameo plush is no less than a great mattress...al'a the old Sealy Posturepedics from many years ago. It's a two sided mattress, which requires being flipped on a regular basis.
All by itself, it provides good firm support and a comfortable sleeping surface that is suitable for sleeping in any position...and does not require a latex topper.

The Simmons Black models are the best made, strongest one sided name brand innerspring mattresses On the market. My wife and I have an older Black model...the equivalent of today's Ava luxury firm. We use a 2" Talalay latex topper with it. 
We recommend these for people who top 200 lbs. The triple strand wire, Cable Coil, is an excellent choice for people of that weight.

For people of your weight, we recommend the Simmons World Class Annapolis Place...in either a firm or luxury firm with the 2" soft Talalay latex topper.

And while these one sided mattresses don't get flipped, they do need to be rotated on the same frequent basis as the two-sided mattresses need flipping.

The latex toppers are used for comfort and to extend the life of the mattress. The poly and memory foam used in brand name one sided mattresses are initially comfortable, but they do not have the resiliency of all-natural latex foam rubber.
Besides providing comfort that lasts for years, (the one my wife and I use, is 5 years old and still like new), it's so resilient, that it absorbs much of your body weight. The mattress works far less and lasts much longer. A latex mattress topper is the only thing in this industry that more than pays for itself.
