Another mattress, another email, this is getting ridiculous! The Brentwood luxury firm we tried was lumpy and not inspiring at all. What do you think it would take to make the Alexia Extra Firm comfortable for a side&back sleeper? (Husband is stomach&back).

Otherwise we will probably stick with the Evie Firm Pillow Top we have now; you think 1.5" would do the trick? Thanks!!!!

My wife and I travel with a 1.5" latex topper....and use a 2" latex topper at home. The 2" latex toppers do an optimum job of softening the surface of a mattress.

The 3" models tend to create too great a depth of softness. A pillowtop made of poly foam and memory foam will not remain as comfortable as a latex foam mattress topper over the long term. Pillowtops tend to lose their comfort within a year. The 2" soft Talalay Latex foam topper that my wife and I use at home is 5 years old and still like new.

The 2" will do a fine job on the Simmons Beautyrest Black Alexia extra firm mattress...softening the surface without sacrificing the underlying for support.
