The process of finding what you want and need is made more difficult with the heavier weight. The issue becomes comfort vs. durability...and you will always sacrifice one for the sake of the other.
I do have a mattress that will do the job. It's one we had made for just such an occaision because, quite frankly, there isn't a regular production model that will do the job on its own.
Usually, I would recommend a reasonably firm mattress and a latex topper, in tandem, to do the job.
Our two sided model, "Cameo" plush, is both...durable and comfortable.
Two draw backs are, you must flip a two-sided mattress regularly to get the most out of it. and, there's no place for you to try it.
This mattress has been field tested over the last 5 years, and holds up well under heavier body weight...maintaining its original comfort.
It's purely a faith based purchase, I realize. But truly, it's the only other way around the durability/comfort issue, if a latex topper is removed from the list of possible solutions.
