Arthritis, Soft S&F mattress not holding up.

Question: I have a fairly new mattress ( 2 years old ).
It is a Stearns and Foster plush. we had traded in 2 times to end up with
that..a pillow top plush..way too soft and a firm..too hard all Sterns and Foster.
Probably should have stuck with the firm. I have back problems ( disc) and arthritis in my hip
and I am a side sleeper. This current is too soft. If I am not able to replace mattress would one
of your toppers help, which one ? If I do replace mattress what would you recommend?
Thank you for your time.

Hi Margaret,
You're right. You should have stayed with the firm for your disc problems and then softened
The surface with a soft latex topper for your arthritis. That would have been best for optimum
results in addressing both issues.
You can go with a firm latex topper to make the surface firmer, which will help your back,
but do nothing for your arthritis.
If you are stuck with that mattress, and are going to use latex toppers to correct the feel for you,
I'd have to suggest two toppers....a 1.5" firm Talalay under a 1.5" soft Talalay.
If you flip your mattress over, the underside will feel stiff, which is better for your back.
Add a 2" soft Talalay topper to that for a better solution.
Best option for long term health would be to trade that mattress in for a firm for your back
and add the soft topper for your arthritis.
