S&F plush pillowtop mattress...too soft for a bad back.

Alan writes:

We have a Stearns and Foster luxury plush euro pillowtop
mattress. It is way too soft for us, it is hard to turn over in it, and
feels like we are sleeping in a valley. It also sleeps hot.
We are thinking of going with an all latex mattress. The reveiws on latex mattresses are much better and we hear they sleep much cooler.

We tried a
plush with no pillow top by S&F, but it was a little too soft. Which
mattress would you feel is the best for us? We both have back problems. Alan

Hi Alan,
It should be and seems to have become obvious to you, that you need a firmer mattress. Those plush pillowtops are quite seductive when trying them in showrooms, but don't work to well for every night sleeping. You don't mention how much the two of you weigh, so I'll offer a couple of suggestions.
The "Nature" model from pure LatexBLISS is an excellent choice if you are more average to above average in size.
If you are over 200 pounds, I'd like to see you go with the EverEden 8" or 9"....the 9" for a female side sleeper.
The Nature is 100% Talalay Latex. Talalay is a more supple, less dense latex than Dunlop.
The EverEden uses a layer of Talalay Latex on top for comfort, but has a 6" Dunlop core. For heavy people the Dunlop provides better support...especially important if you have a bad back.
Here are the links to each. You can order on line. Delivery is free and there's no sales tax.
