Hi Pete, I am considering Simmons Beautyrest Dartmouth Drive Ultimate Firm in queen size. Can you please give me your thoughts about it? I have tested it, but in a showroom is difficult to know in just a few minutes if is right for you. I'm 5'10", 200 lbs and my wife is 5'4" around 140 lbs. Also, we don't use a box spring. We like firm mattresses, that's why we tried that model, and the Beautyrest seems to be an affordable brand without all the "luxury items" we don't want and would add too much to the price. The things about buying a firm mattress, that make it a good choice, are: Your back gets the support it needs, and it lasts longer than the softer mattresses...which gives you better value for your money. Another advantage is that you can soften the surface if you find that the mattress is too firm to sleep on comfortably....and, you can soften it with high quality all-natural latex, which is also much longer lasting than the cheap chemical laden foams used in the softer beds....also adding to it's longevity and value for your money spent. So, you see, you have nothing to worry about when choosing that mattress. It is a well made mattress.
