A Soft Talalay Latex Topper for a S&F Heidi luxury firm mattress

My wife and I just purchased a queen Stearns & Foster Heidi luxury firm. It's new, but we still find it much too firm. We really love soft, plush tops (like those in many high-end hotels), but were worried that if we got a plush mattress, it wouldn't last as long. And I really dislike the caving-in-feeling many plush mattresses have.
I've seen that you've recommended latex topers on your blog - I'm worried that latex would just feel weird, versus getting a plusher mattress or getting a feather mattress topper. Do you think we'd be better off buying a plusher mattress or would a latex soft top give the same softness as a nice high end plush top? Thanks! Chris

A soft 2" Talalay latex topper and a Heidi luxury firm is one of the better sleep system choices. The combination provides a very comfortable sleeping surface without sacrificing the underlying firm support. Latex is resilient, as well as comfortable, absorbing much of your body weight. With a latex topper, you will get many more years from your Heidi than without it....as opposed to less, if you go with a softer mattress that uses poly foam to do that job.

For the record, Chris, latex toppers do feel weird...an "OMG! Where have you been all my life?!" kinda way....weird as in something you've never had before. But Chris, it's a good weird. Latex customers are fiercely loyal. There is nothing else that matches the comfort or the quality.
