Hotel Mattresses sold at retail stores

I'm gonna get to the answer in a minute...or, you can skip right to the next paragraph.
Get this. Hotels can use any brand, change brands...and, as each line changes specs from time to time, have somewhat different beds of the same brand over the years. Only when the hotel is new, will the same mattress be in every room.
In doing a google search about what mattress is used at Holiday Inns...Sealy, Serta, Simmons and Tempurpedic All came up as being used.
Hotels sell mattress too. Whatever happens to be the featured mattress, is what will be delivered...even though the mattress you slept on may not be that mattress. And, even if it is the same, a new one will feel differently from one that has been broken in. (a problem you face trying broken in floor sample at retail stores too)
The best part is, you'll pay 2 to 3 times more for it than at retail....for a mattress that is likely to be different from the one you wanted to begin with.
And you thought this would be as easy.

The only way to know what mattress you slept on, is to call the hotel, and ask them to ask housekeeping to look at the label on the mattress in the room you had, and get back to you with the information. If the mattress is less than a year or so old, you stand a half decent chance of finding a match at retail.
And while you may not be able to find the same exact mattress, you are likely to find something close.
