All Natural, Green, Organic Latex Mattress for an adjustable bed. Pure LatexBLISS

Dear Pete,
My husband and I are searching for a new mattress to replace our 21 year old Sealy. I am 5'10" 150 lbs. and have had some occasional back issues (pain, muscle spasms etc.) and my husband is 6' 205 lbs. who has problems with snoring /apnea and some acid reflux.
We already know we don't want any kind of memory foam (Tempurpedic or equivalent - the offgassing burns my throat) and that we probably need a firm mattress with a comfortable top. However, I'm also hoping to find a mattress that uses more natural materials - one that doesn't rely on all the various types of petrochemical foams and doesn't have flame retardants sprayed on the fabrics.
I hear that natural wool meets the flame retardant requirements so that additional synthetic chemicals aren't needed and that a natural latex foundation is a good natural option for firm support. Is this correct? With all the "green washing" that happens in marketing these days it's hard to know what's true.
Do you have any options to suggest that meet our needs? I'd also really appreciate getting your thoughts on the "movable mattress bases" that elevate your head and feet. Will they prematurely break a mattress down due the repetitive movement?
Thank you in advance for any insight you can give me.
Sincerely,
Holly

Hi Holly,
Sealy, Stearns & Foster and Simmons, all use a non-chemical backing to the fabric as a flame retardant.
However, the biggest problem you face is getting over your expectaions for longevity.
Yes, an adjustable base will cause the mattress to wear faster where is bends, but hey, they don't last all that long anyway.
You won't get anywhere near the 21 years you got the last time....with a spring mattress today.
The poly foam that is in your current mattress is a petrochemically based product, which hasn't bothered you all these years. Petroleum is a natural product. "Green Washing"! I like that. if you were easily fooled by all the white washing you've endured over the years, you'd likely be fooled by the green washing, as well.
The most natural product used for mattresses is latex. If natural is what you want, latex is the best way to get it. And, it's been the longest lasting material since the dawn of the modern mattress age...the 1920s.
Here is a link to thee most natural, chemical free mattresses on the planet.
The 100% All-Natural Pure Bliss models are 100% Organic, using wool as a natural fire retardant. It's as "Green" as they come.
