Sleeping Hot on an Expensive Pillowtop Mattress

We just purchased a very expensive "Pillow Top" Mattress with hopes per another website that this would keep my husband and I cool.
My husband had a Stem Cell Transplant for his leukemia. 
What can you suggest as we are going to have to return this mattress.
I am not sure it is because of his cancer cells still being "lively" or my post menopause but we are BURNING UP each night.

There is a lot of hype about sleeping cool, with lots of promises about being cooler than traditional memory foam. This off-shoot hype has to be taken in context. Traditional memory foam sleeps like you've died and gone to hell.
The BS in selling memory foam that is "cooler" is in comparison to that....kinda like dying and going to Vegas in the Summer, where it isn't much cooler than hell....but cooler.
The result is the consumer hearing only the word "cooler" and assumes that it will be cool....without the further relativity to the heat of traditional memory foam.
The pillowtops cause you to be more encompassed by the foams. You sleep more in than on the mattress. This too, adds to the warmth.
Avoiding pillowtops and mattresses with memory foam is the key to sleeping cool...like dying and going to San Diego, where it is truly cool and comfy.
