Sleepers with Significant Size Difference, Medi-Coil plush two-sided mattress

Amy writes:

Hi there. I've been reading through your blog and getting more educated. My husband and I are about 300# apart in weight. I'm about 160 and he's over 450. We were married in 93 and at that time we bought a two sided Queen mattress which served us well for about 13 years. I wanted a King size so we "upgraded" to a "no flip" king. That was a huge (and expensive) mistake. We have spun the bed but it is very saggy and we both wake up with terrible back aches. We both sleep on our sides and not usually together. He gets too hot and I am usually cold. He doesn't like foam toppers because of the heat they hold in, and neither of us likes how difficult it can me to move around on them. We both want something firm in the core, but soft enough to cushion our shoulders and hips.
But the real clincher is that it has to support him while not feeling like concrete under my lighter weight.
We've most recently looked at Sleep Number beds but we're concerned with some of the reviews. We'd really love to know what you think.
Thank you. Amy

Hi Amy,

There is only one mattress made that will support a man his size.
It's two-sided, fully tufted for greater stability, uses the heaviest coils available and contains no memory foam.
You can also add a layer of latex to soften the surface...softness that won't collapse under a man his size.
It's the Therapedic Medi-Coil plush two-sided mattress shown here:
