Hi Pete!
I am in need of some advice on purchasing a new mattress.
The first mattress we purchased was a Stearns & Foster Abbey Lynn FT King Mattress that I loved. But after a year, it started sagging and became very uncomfortable for me. My husband’s side didn’t sag that much, but there is a weight difference of 75lbs between both of us.
So we decided to contact the place where we bought it and we got a new one…it was a Simmons Rivergate PT King Matt. This started sagging on both sides right away and has a big hump in the middle and now we are both having back issues. We have filed another claim with the mattress company and are awaiting a response from them. Can you please give me a recommendation on a good mattress considering the weight difference and we would love something a little firmer as well.
Thanks! Jennifer
Hi Jennifer,
The pillowtops did you in, as they do with everyone who buys them. If that Beautyrest is a plush pillowtop, then that just made matters worse. When getting a Simmons Beautyrest, it's important to opt for the Plush/firm choice, which has the same comfortable padding, but uses a heavier gauge wire. There's less of a depth of softness, but the mattress will hold up better.
If they have the Black Series Beautyrest models, go for the Ansleigh in plush/firm. Shown here:

Thanks, Pete
