I'm 5'2 and about 170lb and my husband is 6' and about 225. We currently have a king and intend to stay with that size. Also, is there any reason to purchase a new box spring or will our current one suffice?

Hi Jen,
Yes. You will need a new boxspring. Using the old one will void the warranty of the new mattress.
The use of a latex topper is advised for both, comfort and added durability. Given your sizes, adding one is the prudent thing to do.
