Simmons Beautyrest extra firm mattress

My husband and I purchased a king size Simmons Beautyrest extra firm mattress set about one year ago. It is too firm for us, especially for me. I wake up most mornings with a very stiff back, neck and occasionally with pins and needles in the arm of the side I was sleeping on. Needless to say, we regret our purchase. We will be relocating in the Spring to a new place and will likely purchase another mattress set at that time and move this one into a guest room. In the meantime, I have three questions for you and very much appreciate your advice: first, should we purchase a latex topper to get us by for the next 7 months and if so, would you recommend soft or medium and what depth? Second, are there any types of pillows you recommend? Finally, when we do purchase another mattress set, what would you recommend? I am 5'8" and about 170 pounds and my husband is 5'9" and 200 pounds. We both sleep primarily on our sides.

Hi Juliet, 


A soft latex topper is what to get for use on a too firm mattress.
I wouldn't get too ahead of yourself over a new mattress. You have a lot of time and things change quickly in this industry. Besides, you may like the feel of your mattress with the topper.
You may not need a new mattress, at all.
Latex pillows last longer than any other, but that would be its only advantage.
