Latex Mattresses and Latex Allergies

Kathy writes:

What concern is there for a person with a potential latex sensitivity sleeping  on a latex mattress? Latex seems to be a good choice if this is not a factor.
Thank you, Kathy

Hi Kathy,
I get asked this a lot.
There is no concern. Latex allergies are topical...affected by direct contact with the skin. It is not airborne. Latex gloves and bandages are your primary concern.
A latex mattress has a cover. Also, you'll add a mattress pad and sheets. You never touch the latex directly. And, that's all a moot point.
All of this in assumption that the allergen is present. In fact, the allergen, (the naturally present Protein), has been removed during a 5 stage washing of the finished product.
Latex foam, made in the US and Sri-Lanka, is hypo-allergenic. Many latex mattresses are a blend of natural and synthetic latex. In synthetic latex, the allergen was never present.
Here are links to our most popular latex mattress lines...Pure LatexBLISS, EverEden and Natura.

Thanks, Pete
