Help!!! New Boxspring or Bunkie Board for Platform bed

My boyfriend lives in a fully furnished aparment and his platform bed offers NO support. He has horrible back pain. 

The bed has springs and the support bars dip out instead of lying flat and giving support. 

I want to get him a boxspring to help. Any suggestions? Will this even work.?? Emily

Hi Emily,

A boxspring will raise the height of the mattress. Boxsprings run 9" or 5" high.

I would suggest a bunk bard, which is only an inch thick.

You could also use a sheet of 3/4" plywood.
