Hip and Back Pain from our memory foam mattress

Jamie writes:

My husband and I got a memory foam mattress in December after my hernia surgery. It was fine at first, but now I'm experiencing the worst hip pain ever and my husband is complaining with lower back pain. I've seen where you recommend latex items, however, I am allergic to latex. Do you have any advice for us?
Jamie

Hi Jamie,
The allergen that naturally is present in latex, is removed when processed into the foam rubber that is used for mattresses.
In other words, you wouldn't be allergic to the latex items we carry. In addition, latex allergies are topical. you would have to be touching it to react to it. When using a latex topper or mattress, you will also use a mattress pad and sheets. This too, is protection for you.
First thing to do is to flip your mattress over. You should experience a marked reduction in back pain right away.
Chances are, you won't be happy with the firmer feel of the underside. Add a 2" soft Talalay latex topper to that, and you will be good to go.

Thanks, Pete
