Hi Pete,
My wife and I just returned from Disney in Orlando and stayed at the Wilderness lodge.
We NEVER EVER had a better 4 nights of sleep then we had on the Hospitality Beautyrest that was in our room.
We are an older couple me 6'-2" 245 lbs and her 5'-6" 160 lbs. I would buy this model hands down but don't know which model this is.
I know they have a Hospitality Division that sells to the public but don't know what model this was.
It did seem to have a small pillow to to it, any help or thoughts on this? And is this different then the beautyrest they sell in the local stores?
I am thinking that these might be better built.
Many thanks, Robert
Hi Robert,
What you sleep on at hotels, you can buy at retail for a lot less than the hotels charge.
What makes a Beautyrest so comfortable, is the individually pocketed coil system, which provides contouring support, which maintains the natural alignment of your spine.
Some hotels use a lower end "Classic" model with 800 coils in queen. Some use a "World Class" model with 1000 coils in queen.
Hotels will, usually, have a pillowtop model.
Keep in mind that hotels are geared more for comfort and not so much for durability. Their main concern is the comfort of their guest.
Hotel rooms are filled on a rotating basis and any given mattress is used 3 - 4 times a week, on average.
Even with this part time use, their mattresses need replacing every few years.
The main reason for this fairly frequent replacing is that the pillowtops become uncomfortable. They are the first thing to wear out.
For every night home use in a master bedroom, these mattresses last only for a couple of years.
If you look at reviews for Simmons Beautyrest, you'll see that they are horrible.
The reason why they are so bad, is because of the way they are bought by the consumer and sold by the salespeople...what with everyone focusing on comfort at the expense of durability.
Their plush models use a very thin wire coil, which loses its resiliency quickly...along with the pillowtop flattening out.
So, if you want to enjoy the excellent support of a Simmons Beautyrest, and enjoy it for many years to come, there is a way.
First, you start with the Simmons Beautyrest Black Desiree in luxury firm....which uses a much heavier gauge triple strand wire, called a cable coil.
This is the appropriate Simmons Beautyrest mattress for a man your size.

In lieu of the pillowtop, add an EverEden all natural 2" soft Talalay Latex topper.

Latex is and has been thee best, (most comfortable and longest lasting), upholstery material for the last 100 years...nothing new there.
Not only is the latex topper more comfortable than the memory foam in the pillowtop, it's also a whole lot more resilient...absorbing much of your body weight, which translates into a longer life for the mattress.
Also, Latex sleeps cool, while memory foam sleeps hot.
We've sold hundreds of this particular sleep system combination, over the last decade, and with zero complaints to show for it.
THIS, is how to get what you want and your money's worth as well.
