Best, Supportive, Softest, Longest Lasting Queen Mattress under $2000.

Jason writes:

Hi Pete,

I have a problem that has caused me to waste a lot of money on mattresses.
My wife likes a soft mattress and I need firm support for my bad back.
In an effort to make my wife happy, I’ve purchased 3 pillowtop mattresses in as many years. All have lost their shape and comfort quickly.
They made me sweat and arrived with a chemical odor.
They were all names brands. Sealy, Simmons and Serta. I didn’t go cheap.

Whenever I called to complain, they asked for photos.
The photos didn’t show what we were feeling and they said there’s nothing wrong. I can tell you, I was plenty pissed about that.

I can’t afford nor desire to keep on doing this.
My question to you is, What’s the best mattress for my situation?
What’s the softest mattress that will give me the support I need for my back, not sleep hot, doesn’t stink, longest lasting AND, make my wife happy?
I have $2000 to spend on a queen size mattress.
Please tell me that all this isn’t too much to ask.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
Jason

Hi Jason,
I have a solution for you.
But first, an explanation as to where you’d been going wrong.

1. The name brands that you could once trust to make a quality mattress have been sold. The new owners are no longer concerned about making a high quality product. Their interest is all about profits.
The mattress industry, by and large, has gone bad… promoting mattresses that require frequent replacing, and not under the terms of their worthless warranty, as you have experienced.

2. The single reason for all of the problems you’re experiencing is the memory foam used in all of those mattresses.
That junk is promoted as if it were the best thing since sliced bread.
In fact, it’s the worst upholstery material ever invented… going all the things you mentioned… sleeping hot, off gassing the toxic chemicals from which it’s made, 61 different chemicals in all, and wearing out quickly.

It’s a temperature sensitive material that softens as it warms from your body heat.
It’s not very resilient, so after only a short while, you’re sinking too far, which throws off the body’s natural alignment… causing back pain and making preexisting back problems worse.
The diabolical part is that memory foam will return to its original shape when you get out of bed… as too make the warranty worthless.

Memory Foam is THEE thing to avoid when buying a mattress!

3. A pillowtop is the first part of the mattress to show wear.
Once the pillowtop has lost its comfort, the reason why you bought in the first place, the whole mattress and the money you spent for it, is shot… wasted.

My recommendation eliminates all of the aforementioned problems.
The best upholstery material is, and for the past 100+ years, has always been Pure Organic and Hypoallergenic Dunlop Latex Foam… an all natural material derived from the sap of the rubber tree.
THIS is the type of upholstery material that provides long lasting comfort.
No Sinking In. No Off Gassing. No Sleeping Hot.

My recommendation comes in two parts.
1. The mattress that will give you the proper support you need for your back.
The PlushBeds Luxury Bliss Mattress in Medium Firm
The individually pocketed coils maintain the natural alignment of the body and spine, which will relieve your back pain, and continue to do that job for many years to come.

2. A Removable Pillowtop.
From Latex for Less, a 3” Soft Pure Organic and Hypoallergenic Latex Topper.
This will provide the comfort your wife wants without sacrificing the underlying firm contouring support that you both need.
A latex topper tends to last for several years. But once it’s no longer comfortable, all you have to replace is the topper, which costs much less than a mattress.

A unseen side benefit to all of this is the affect on the mattress.
Since latex is thee most resilient upholstery material on the planet, the topper will absorb much to all of your body weight (depending on how much you weigh).
The result? A mattress that has endured very little wear… remaining like new for decades… DECADES! Many years beyond sleeping on the mattress alone.

I’m sure you can see the value in all this.
Imagine spending less than $2000 for a queen size mattress and having that be the last mattress you need to buy for the next 20-30 years!

Here are links to that mattress and topper I’m recommending.
I recommend opting for the organic cotton cover to go with the topper.
