Simmons Beautyrest Elite Plush/Firm Pillowtop Mattress.

Hi Pete,

I am trying to find a new mattress that is as close as possible to what we currently have, a Simmons Beautyrest Elite Plush/Firm Pillowtop Mattress. 

I’ve looked through Beautyrest and because they have changed the branding line since then, I’m unsure what to get. 

We love our current mattress, however we just bought a new bed and are thinking of getting a new mattress to go with it as this one is 12 years old.

Hi Nick,
It’s time to buy a new mattress when you’re no longer sleeping well on the one you have….and not simply because it’s getting old.
If you’re sleeping well, I suggest that you keep it until you’re not.

Simmons was sold to an investment group in 2016.
That same investment group also bought Serta.
They are now one company.
The primary change is in using poor quality memory foam, which is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing…not to mention sleeping hot and off gassing the toxic chemicals from which this memory foam is made.
You’d be lucky to get a few years out of any new Beautyrest, especially if it’s a pillow top….depending on body weight.

If you’re intent upon replacing your mattress, I recommend a mattress using an individually pocketed coil system, (the same type of support that you’re getting from your Beautyrest), and using no memory foam.
Also, the pillow top part of a mattress is the first part to show wear.
Instead, opt for a mattress without a pillow top and add a topper, (a removable pillow top). A Pure Organic & Hypoallergenic Latex Topper is extremely comfortable and long lasting.
