Courtyard by Marriott Hotel Mattress.

Hi Pete,

I'm an international traveler and I was staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel.
I slept there like a baby and didn't realize until now that my current mattress was a problem.
The mattress was unbelievably amazing.
When I pulled off the mattress protector this is what was said all new material consisting of:
“polyurethane foam 94 % blended rayon/polyester fiber batting 6% and innerspring unit.
The model number was 508849.
When I tried to google this, I couldn't get anything. It was a Sealy mattress manufactured in 2017
Do you have any idea what kind of mattress this is or where I can find something similar internationally. I reside in Saudi Arabia.
Furthermore, there is no clear muffin top or anything.
It looked like an old mattress my grandma used to own.
Thanks for your help,
Reem
Good Morning Reem,
That mattress was made 6 years ago.
You can’t buy a Sealy mattress made like that one in the U.S. today.
Besides the support of the coil system, the key component is the 94% Polyurethane foam used for the comfort layers.
Today, it’s memory foam. Memory foam is the worst upholstery material ever invented.
Be sure to avoid memory foam when choosing a mattress.
Sealy is an international company.
I can’t say how Sealy mattresses are made in other areas around the world.
Compare specifications when shopping.
Individually pocketed coils contour to the shape of the body and maintain the natural alignment of the spine. This type of coil system and no memory foam will most closely mimic your experience you had with that Sealy mattress.
The gauge of the steel wire is also important.
Thin gauge wears more quickly than a heavier gauge.
That hotel mattress doesn’t have a pillowtop, which is why it has held up so well.
The pillowtops also wear quickly.
The brand name is unimportant. The quality of the components is what matters.
Thanks, Pete
You Should Know
Using an old box spring to support any new mattress will cause premature wear and void the manufacturer’s warranty.
A waterproof mattress protector will extend the life of a mattress by keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry.
