The reason for the latex topper was to have a mattress upholstered with memory foam be comfortable and last.
The reason why we were recommending that, even though it has memory foam in it, is because the memory foam Simmons had been using was cured and didn't off gas the toxic chemicals from which memory foam is made.
Since you bought your mattress, an investment group bought Simmons.
The new owners don't care about preventing those toxic chemicals from off gassing.
We no longer recommend that mattress for that reason.
The latex topper prevents the premature wear of memory foam, but can't prevent the toxic off gassing.
What makes a Beautyrest such a comfortable mattress, is the individually pocketed coils that contour to the shape of the body and maintain the natural alignment of the spine.
