Replacing a Simmons Beautyrest World Class Cape Horn Plush Firm Mattress.

Hi Pete,
A few years ago, I picked up a mattress at an estate sale and my husband and I ended up absolutely loving it.
It’s a Simmons Beautyrest World Class Cape Horn Plush Firm.
We have no idea how old it was when we bought it, but we’ve had it four or five years and have started to suspect it is wearing down.
We tried rotating it (one side definitely appears to be the top) and magically my husband’s back pain became my back pain.
So we’re thinking it needs to be replaced.  Can you recommend the closest thing to this model?
Since we got it secondhand, I know nothing about it so I don’t know what to look for.
Or, should I just buy one of your latex toppers to eek a few more years out of this one?
Best, Amy

Hi Amy,
Today’s Simmons Beautyrest mattresses are upholstered with memory foam which is purposefully designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing...lasting only a couple of years.
When you buy a new Simmons Beautyrest mattress, you need a latex topper to go on it.
The latex topper insulates you from the memory foam and causes the mattress to last a whole lot longer than was intended.

Given that, it makes sense to buy the latex topper first.
This may give more years of life to the mattress you have.
The EverEden Pure All Natural 2” Soft Talalay Latex Topper is all you need.
Shown here:

(If you are heavy people, go with the 2” Soft Vytex Dunlop Latex Topper)
When the topper arrives, flip the mattress to its firmer side and add the topper.

The latex topper will last for many years.
When the time finally comes to replace the mattress, get a Luxury Firm Simmons Beautyrest.
