Hi Pete,
Our Westin Heavenly Bed Pillowtop mattress has failed, after only a couple of years.
We are in the market for a new mattress, but we don't want to go through this again.
Having to replace a mattress after only a couple of years, is way too expensive.
We aren't heavy people. We're more average in weight.
What can you recommend to us the will be supportive, comfortable, and last for a decent amount of time?
Thanks, Reginald

Hi Reginald,
Memory foam is the thing to avoid.
Memory foam is used for the express purpose of selling more mattresses, more frequently, to the same people.
It's comfortable enough to make the sale, but begins to loses that initial comfort within months of purchase.
Most mattresses made with memory foam will need to be replaced within a couple of years.
For that reason, the mattresses I'm recommending to you, have NO Memory Foam in them.
Besides the pillowtop on your mattress wearing out, Simmons also uses raw steel for the coils used in the Beautyrests.
The Westin Heavenly Bed is a Simmons Beautyrest.
The steel used is not tempered, which added to the quick demise of your mattress.
You didn't mention a price range, so I'm sending you links to two different brands.
The first is the one we use at home...the best we've found, shopping at trade shows.
It comes with white glove delivery...and is the more expensive of the two I'm sending you.
Natura of Canada Greenspring uses a pre-compressed individually pocketed coil system, as does Simmons.
These mattresses have a higher coil count...coils made of double tempered steel...and upholstered with natural latex.
Latex is and has been thee best upholstery material for the last 100 years.
Memory foam has been on the market for 20 years, and has proven itself to be the absolute worst upholstery material ever invented.
There are 5 model in the Greenspring line...all firmer than they sound, due to the high quality of the components used to make them.
Of the 5, The Plush EuroTop is the most comfortable. If you're looking for a more medium feel, the Ultra Plush model fills that bill.
That line of mattresses, shown here:

For something similarly made, but a more simple design...and at a lower price, these Adrian and Adara models are an excellent value.

Part of the price reduction is due to the FedEx delivery.
My granddaughter has one of these...good support and comfort.
Tempered steel pocketed coils and all natural latex upholstery.
All of the name brands have steadily reduced in quality over the last 15 years.
Stores that sell them are pushing memory foam....all for the sake of profit.
Memory foam has created a boon for the industry and a nightmare for the consumer.
