Stearns and Foster Mattress at the Loews Hotel.

    Hi Pete,

    I slept at the Loews Hotel last month and had the best sleep in a while. I am 5'4 and range between 135 to 160 in weight. What bed would you recommend thats similar or better than the the Stearns and Foster luxury plush pillow top mattress?

      Hi,
      Loews provides no information about the mattress they use.
      I can tell you that S&F was purchased by Tempurpedic in 2013 and haven’t made a mattress worth buying since then.
      Hotels, generally, have mattresses made for them that contain NO Memory Foam.
      This is not true of retail stores.
      At retail stores, the upholstery in every S&F mattress is all memory foam.

      Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
      Hotels have long rejected the use of memory foam in their mattresses for that reason.

      Since Loews does not offer their mattresses for sale, that leaves you with the choice of buying a high quality mattress from a different manufacturer...or, buying a S&F mattress from a retailer that won’t last very long.

      Here’s the mattress I’m recommending for you, which happens to be the same mattress my wife and I have at home.
      We had been a Sealy/S&F dealer for many years.
      S&F had been considered “The Cadillac of the Industry “ for many decades.
      When Tempurpedic bought them, they went to nothing more than expensive junk...literally, overnight.

      We dropped both lines, at that time, and went shopping for a high quality alternative.
