Simmons Beautyrest Black Desiree Mattress and 2" Soft EverEden Latex Topper.

I am thinking of buying the Simmons Beautyrest Black Desiree king mattress set and was wanting to know about the latex topper 2" Ever Eden soft.  
Do you put this topper directly on the mattress and cover it with a mattress protector of some sort?  
If so, would the mattress protector and related king sized sheets have to be of a certain larger size to accommodate the additional 2" topper?  
Any recommendations as to a good protector that will fit over this topper and ideas on what size sheets will fit.  
I also do not want to void the mattress warranty with this topper or will it?

Hi Curtis,

The latex topper will not void the warranty of the mattress. In fact, it will prevent you from needing to use it...causing the mattress to retain it's shape a whole lot longer.

My wife is a little skeptical about the comfort of the Simmons Desiree king sized mattress with the topper.  

We are going to a store today to test the comfort of the Desiree mattress as is, but how will we know if the latex topper makes the bed better until we buy it and try it?    

I am for longevity but my wife is concerned as far as comfort.
