It sounds like you aren't getting enough support.
A latex topper will do a number of things. The most important of them is insulating you from the memory foam in the mattress.
Memory foam is a temperature sensitive product. it softens as it warms from your body heat. You don't have to be heavy to sink into it, which throws off the alignment of your spine.
