Replacement Wolf Mattress for the Stearns and Foster Edgefield Extra firm.

Years ago (early 90's)I bought a Stearns and Foster Edgefield Extra Firm. This was the best bed ever!!
Long story short...I left the country for a while and gave the mattress to a friend.  
Just last week I had an opportunity to sleep on it again...and let me tell you...the mattress is still in as good of shape as the day I bought it.  
Another friend was there and laid on it to and proclaimed it was the most comfortable mattress they have ever felt and wanted to know how to get a mattress like that.
Can you help find us a mattress that has the same features as this Cadillac of mattresses?

Hi Leilani,
That mattress was one of the last great mattresses made by S&F.
The Cadillac of the mattress industry, no longer exists.
There is nothing in the current S&F line, which is now owned by Tempurpedic, that is anything like your Edgefield.
Since you bought that mattress, the industry changed dramatically...and not for the better...with the name brands turning to the corporate greed mindset of many of our industries.
Having spent decades building a first class reputation, each and every name brand is now playing off their good reputations, to sell mattresses that are now designed to last 5 years, on average.
Going from making two sided mattresses that you regularly flip, to making one sided mattresses, and later, adding more and more memory foam to the mattresses, has led to this purposeful dumbing down of over-all quality.

There is good news.
A similarly made mattress is available, using the same coil system and similar type and density of polyurethane foams. 
The Wolf Company has been owned by the same family since it was established in 1872.
The Wolf Tulah in firm, will have a similar feel, providing the same support and similar surface feel to that of the S&F Edgefield.
