Hi Nancy,
A standard king is 80" long...6'8" long. It should be long enough for your fiancee.
A standard king is 76" wide, which gives you more elbow room than the 72" wide Cal.King.
Also, you can 1/4 turn a standard king...something you can't do with any other size.
The 1/4 turn rotation allows for a more even settling of the upholstery layers.
