Tempurpedic Mattress is too hot and causing back aches

Jane writes:

We are 3 nights into a Tempurpedic Cloud. It is so HOT I can't sleep. I don't mind the hardness but can't stand the heat. What can we do. I would never recommend these to anyone. I have bulging discs in my lower back, have had hip pinned and have bursitis. Husband has bad discs in his neck and lower back of long standing.
Help! Thank you, Jane

Hi Jane,
The memory foam used in the Tempurpedic is the problem.
If you keep that mattress, your back problems will get worse. Get rid of it.
In the meantime, flip it over and sleep on the underside. It will also be firm, but won't sleep hot.
If you find that the underside is firm enough for your back, but not comfortable enough to sleep well on, you can soften the surface with a latex topper. Many of my customers that have done this find they can get another few years out of their purchase. Here is the link to the latex toppers. 2" of soft Talalay latex does the job nicely.
