My boyfriend (6ft, 250lbs) and I (5'7", 185lbs) are buying our first new mattress. We definitely prefer firmer models; anything pillow top seems too squishy. We're obviously hoping for quality and longevity, but price is a factor. I'd love to get something for around $500-$1000, but if an inexpensive bed is going to self destruct, we can spend more.
