How Do I Choose Between the 2" and 3" EverEden Talalay Latex Mattress Topper.

Hi Pete,
Other than the obvious 1” difference in the 2"- 3” EverEden talalay latex mattress topper,
How do I choose which one to get?
Is it based on the size of the user?
Is the 3” recommended in certain situations, ie: history of back problems, arthritis?
Or if you prefer a firmer feel do you recommend the 2”?
Thanks, Sheri
Hi Sheri,
The 3” creates a greater depth of softness.
Because of this, you’ll sink in a little further at the heaviest part of your body.
For most, that will be at the hip and waste.
If you’re heavier and older, the 3” will cause your spine to become misaligned.
People who are heavier and older, usually have some worn or wearing disc issues.
The 3” will exacerbate these problems and increase pain.

The 2” provides a comfortable sleeping surface without causing a back pain problem.

For those with more advanced forms of arthritis or fibromyalgia, the 3” is more
comfortable for those conditions, but you wouldn’t want to have your back hurt to
achieve the softer surface.
For those with both conditions, it’s best to stay with the 2” and add a synthetic down comforter
to further soften the mattress.

I rarely recommend the 3”.
But when I do, it’s to people who are petite...usually a female with a sensitive hip.
Light weight people don’t exert enough pressure to sink in too far.

All this pertains to the Soft Talalay or Soft Vytex Dunlop Latex.
I will, more often, recommend a 3” Medium Vytex Dunlop Latex Topper to people who are extraordinary heavy.
The Dunlop is more dense and better suited for more supportive surface comfort.
The Talalay, for comfort only...while relying on the mattress for the support.
Here is the link. They can be ordered online.

Here is a link to the down and synthetic down comforters that you’d add to the latex
for advanced cases of arthritis and fibromyalgia.

This write up may be helpful for your overall understanding of this.
ALSO IMPORTANT:
I suggest using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping your mattress clean and dry will greatly extend the life and loft of the upholstery materials inside. Ours sleep cool and make NO Noise.
