Simmons Beautyrest Mattress and a 2" Soft Talalay Latex Topper.

Hi Pete, 
My wife and I are shopping for a queen mattress. We would like to buy one ASAP. My wife has back pain. 
We were considering an inner-spring mattress with a memory-foam padding on the top. We love the feeling of the foam on our body. 
We prefer a mattress that has the padding under the cover (I think they call it plush) rather than having a pillow top. 
Any ideas on what will be a good choice? We saw the Simmons Beautyrest Plush. But we are not sure this is the right choice for us. 
Plus, it was a bit pricey.

The problem you face with the direction in which you are headed is that the comfort you feel is short lived...
...something you wouldn't know from trying them in stores.
You are assuming that the quality is there, when it isn't.
First, the mattress...a 'plush' Beautyrest uses a very thin gauge wire for the coil. 
This makes for a comfortable feel in the showroom, but too great a depth of softness for your spine or any kind of expectation of longevity. 
Add to that a chemical laden memory foam topper that is both, toxic and also short lived. 
Memory foam is temperature sensitive. It will soften as it warms from your body's heat. Withing months, it flattens out as if it weren't even there.
What we do, is recommend high quality products that do the job and last a long time.

First, your spine requires some degree of firm support,  which is why we start with a luxury firm Beautyrest. 
The heavier gauge wire used in the firmer models provides both, proper support and greater longevity. 
Add to that 2" of soft All-Natural Talalay Latex, for a feel that is: superior to memory foam, non toxic and will last for many years.

What you asked for has only the illusion of quality and ends up being a total waste of money.
Contrary to the sales pitches you hear at stores, memory foam is the worst material ever invented for use in or as a mattress. 
It's both, toxic and poor quality...but feels great when new.
