Replacing an Old S&F Mattress. What's Comparable?

Hi Peter,
First I want to say, "Thank You", for the information you provide on both, your blog and website!
My husband and I are planning on moving our present S&F "Knightsbridge" mattress (purchased in '97) to the guest bedroom.
We want to replace it with a similar or better quality S&F mattress
What currant model would be comparable?
Thanks, Keisha

Hi Keisha,
I had a Knightsbridge, at that time. It was a great mattress.
There is no such thing as a S&F mattress comparable to the Knightsbridge you have.
There have been many changes since '97 and the most recent is their worst ever.
in 2013, Sealy/S&F was purchased by Tempurpedic. The current S&F line has lots of memory foam in every model.
Your Knightsbridge has no memory foam...and a much stronger coil unit....which is why you still have it 20 years later.

Your two-sided, flippable Knightsbridge was among the last great mattresses available and you should be pleased that you were fortunate to buy one.
It will last for many years, doing double duty in your guest room.
A few years after you bought yours, mattresses went one-sided.
Since then, all of the name brands have gone bad, by adding memory foam to everything they make.

If you're looking for a high quality mattress, we carry The Natura of Canada Greenspring Line.
These mattresses have a very high coil count...with coils made of double tempered steel.
What's more, the upholstery material is natural Talalay Latex...and containing NO Memory Foam.

Of the 5 models, the Plush EuroTop model is the most comfortable.
We sleep on one at home...and it will give you a excellent night's sleep for the next 20 years.
