Using a 22 year old boxspring under a new mattress, will cause the mattress to wear quicker and it will void the warranty of the mattress.
The Wolf Adrian is a good choice for you. The coil unit is strong enough to hold your size and comfortable on top, due to the all natural latex.
The two companies you mentioned require you to decide on which layers to choose. If you know what you're doing, that fine.
Most people don't and find themselves paying to replace layers...which becomes an expensive guessing game.
The thickness of mattresses varies widely. There is no standard for that.
The Wolf Adrian is 11" thick, which should be very close to the thickness of your 22 year old mattress....and, has nothing to do with the way it's packaged.
The foundation that is sold with it, runs 8.75" thick.
