The brand my aunt is interested in having me purchase for her is Serta Cloud Nine mattress, it is on sale and the store is also having a sale bringing it down to $2600 including tax and delivery/setup/haul away of her old. I know nothing about Latex mattresses, but do understand this is not a pillowtop rather is 9 inch thick latex, but does have some of the 5 zoning you talk about which is not desirable. She's tried it out and thinks it will be supportive for her hips which have been broken years ago so there is arthritis. I'm concerned because of it basically being a bed of foam. Have you heard how the Natural Response compares to the Sealy Spring Free that you have been recommending, and which model of the Spring Free would be good for someone with arthritis. She often wakes up with numb hands and fingers. Thanks, this is an excellent resource for a big investment and there sure are alot of bad mattresses out there with fancy price tags and pretty toppers that are misleading, so I'm glad I found this website as my Aunt has an limited income.
$2600 on sale is still a high price. The best value in latex is Sealy, not so much because it's better, but because you can easily shop it, which keeps everyone honest and the prices lower. The starting model in the Sealy SpringFree line is all your aunt would need. It's comfortable without being too soft.
